Dressy Kitchen Towels

Here is a great idea for kitchen towels that "dress up" your kitchen and are functional as well. They are easily made from a hand towel, a fat quarter of your favorite print fabric, a bit of lace and ribbon. To make the bodice simply fold a fat quarter in half, cut a small half circle at the fold  for the neckline, and round off the outer edges. Repeat with a second fat quarter. Sew the two fat quarters, right sides together, around the outer edge. Turn right side out and press.Use a zigzag stitch to sew the neck edges together. Cut a hand towel in half and sew under the two outer edges of the bodice. Add ribbon and lace of your choice, voila! you have your kitchen towel. They fit nicely over the oven door handle or on a towel rack. You can make some for each season of the year!
